Flu Cases Surge in NSW, Prompting Health Warning

NSW Health is urging residents to get vaccinated as influenza cases continue to climb. The state is experiencing a significant spike in flu diagnoses and hospitalizations, with experts warning of a potentially severe flu season.

Those at highest risk, including the elderly, young children, pregnant women, and people with chronic health conditions, are strongly encouraged to get vaccinated. The flu vaccine is free for eligible individuals.

To prevent the spread of the virus, NSW Health recommends staying home when sick, practicing good hygiene, and avoiding high-risk settings like hospitals and aged care facilities.
